Dear colleagues,

In this edition, it gives me great satisfaction to share with you the news and projects we have ahead at CACI.

First of all, we can confirm that our next Congress will be held in Mar del Plata, at the Costa Galana Hotel, from December 19 to 21, the weekend before Christmas.

Our plan includes holding a CACI VALV event on Friday, December 19, as in other occasions. The workshop will take place on Saturday, as usual, and on Sunday, December 21 we will have our General Assembly with the election of our next Vice President. This position will be filled with a member chosen among the CACI members from the Buenos Aires Metropolitan Area.

In addition, CACI will hold 6 institutional events. Two of them will be the traditional CACI-ANMAT and CACI-Auditors conferences. As for the other four, two will be held in Buenos Aires City and the other two in the provinces.

The first conference will take place on Thursday, May 8 at the CACI headquarters, where we will address “Treatment of Abdominal Aorta.”

The second conference will be held in Corrientes province, where we will analyze “Treatment of the Mitral and Tricuspid Valves.” This is scheduled for June 6.

The third conference will be held in Córdoba city, where we will cover “Imaging and Treatment of Coronary Calcium.”

The last institutional conference of the year will be held in Buenos Aires City; its date and topic are yet to be determined.

On the union front, we are requesting meetings with government authorities to open a conversation that will allow us to achieve fair fees and maintain the quality of our professional practice.

Our union demands continue, since—as stated by Dr. Fernán Quirós, Buenos Aires City Minister of Health—improvements in the healthcare system have never been achieved without prior economic growth as a country. Theoretically, we are in a period of stability and certain economic improvements; therefore, I believe it is prudent to resume our demands for better fees.

We continue working to strengthen the CACI structure. It is very important for everyone to get involved with our College; it belongs to all its members, and its sustainability depends solely on us. Let us try to involve more colleagues: together, we will make CACI increasingly stronger.

Best regards,

Dr. Juan José Fernández
