Dear CACI members, these are peculiar times for our specialty, in which competition will be more intense and we will be the sole makers of our own success.
In this editorial, I wish to remind you that CACI is ALL of us, so your participation in all College activities is crucial. A greater commitment from each of us toward this, our institution, as well as the utmost respect for each other as colleagues in cases of labor conflict, regardless of the cause, will be necessary to strengthen ourselves.
Our spirit of solidarity, which is essential, will be enhanced by meeting the quality requirements pursued by CACI regarding:
• Having all cath labs CERTIFIED (a current condition for fellow training programs, one that will surely be required by funding partners in the future).
• Submitting the annual PROCEDURE REGISTRY. Having all members submit their registry will allow us to know the state of our specialty; having a representative and publicly accessible registry improves our position as a scientific society.
• Achieving greater participation in our CACI Annual Congress and in our various educational and institutional activities.
Membership does not only mean paying the fee; it requires a proactive disposition to participate, share, and also debate the topics that generally concern us, such as: How many interventional cardiologists do we want in the country? How do we want to collect our fees? How will we evaluate ourselves?
Maintaining CACI MEMBERSHIP will undoubtedly require the fulfilment of a set of simple obligations that will improve our COLLEGE.
See you at the 35th National CACI Congress, in Mar del Plata from December 12 to 14.
